James Gordon: I have become increasingly interested in photography in recent years and have chosen to apply for further study on the subject. I am engaged by both Photography as Art and Photography in a journalistic sense. I enjoy the work of Photographers such as Jay Maisel, Richard Avedon and Anthony Suau and am particularly enthused with how photography can capture elusive moments that often pass most by or are rarely documented. I am deeply interested the relationship between people and their environment and like to photograph people in context with their surroundings: I often find myself associating with street photography such as the work of Ricky Powell, finding this type of work a more natural reflection of life. Over the next 6 months i will be travelling across America and South America and will be focusing on developing my Photography. I will be posting another blog that will take a journalistic approach to documenting my own experiences and the life of people and places throughout my trip.
